Oxbow Brewing Co.

In 2011, an authentic American farmhouse brewery by the name of Oxbow opened their doors. With heavy inspiration from the farmhouse breweries of Belgium &France they began to create. Though the inspiration was clear, they made the choice to create beers that are decidedly their own, Oxbow encapsulated. Farmhouse ale is a playground for head brewer, Tim Adams. There are no stylistic boundaries to restrain creative thought. As you will taste today, the beers vary quite drastically though they all fall under the umbrella of "Farmhouse Ale". Presently, they operate 3 locations throughout Maine, establishing unique experiences in Newcastle,Portland & Oxford. We are thrilled to share some of their beverages all the way down the east coast.

Over the years of Foeder for Thought, we've had the Oxbow folks come and talk about their products a few times. Most recently, in 2021, Head Brewer and BlenderTim Adams spoke a bit about his love for creating his products and his second love, fly fishing. Discussing this importance of balancing the beer lifestyle. We shared many of his beverages that night including one of today's offerings, Maine Grown.

Magenta - 7.5% - Farmhouse Ale Re-fermented on Concord Grape Juice
