When Allagash opened their doors in 1994, founder Rob Tod had to beg local bars to give his beer a shot. The beer? Allagash White. Now widely respected as the best Belgian-style Witbier on the planet, even the Belgians agree this beer is damn near perfect. 13 years later, shortly after an inspiring & Lambic filled trip to the Pajottenland, Allagash decided to try their hand in Spontaneous Fermentation. This feat was a wild success. Unequivocally, they always respected the origins and never claimed their beer to be Lambic, something the authentic producers appreciated. Growing mutual respect has earned Allagash entrance to the most esteemed festivals around the globe, collaborations with some of the most influential producers in the world & solidified a place in American brewing legend.
In 2022, we hosted the current Head Brewer, Jason Perkins. He spoke on multiple points, from their appreciation of and parallel with natural wine, fresh whole fruit in beer & Allagash's massive influence on Maine agriculture, namely the grain industry. Join us in enjoying some of their finest Belgian-inspired offerings, both clean and spontaneous!
