Raise A Glass To...Joanne!

Joanne loves beer, and when we say that, we mean it. Joanne is notorious for spontaneously strapping on her travel boots and jet setting around the world, always making sure to hit up the as many well-recommended breweries and eateries as her schedule will allow. Not only is she dedicated to the experience of beer, she’s dedicated to the learning and sharing of beer, cider, and wine. Joanne is one of the kindest and most approachable humans we know, making her an incredible ambassador for the beer industry. 

Owner/Head Brewer, Khris thoughtfully says, “Joanne spends her time exploring different styles and traveling anywhere she can to develop her beer experiences. She's wisely opinionated and yet fiercely objective. Joanne is eager and excited, and on top of all of these intangibles, she's educated. I love talking to her, and so do our customers. She's kind and open and wants nothing more than to provide quality customer service, and we're lucky to have her.”

Joanne came to us in 2020 by way of Beer Kulture, a non-profit advocating for diversity in the beverage industry, that she and Khris are both active members of still today. She was featured on Fox News representing Beer Kulture’s Brewing Arts Scholarship Program while studying for her Certified Cicerone ® ️ classification, which she achieved in 2022. Joanne began her journey at GB as a barback, demonstrating a strong and admirable work ethic as well as a voracious desire for learning about not only Green Bench's vast catalog of offerings, but beer on a global scale. She can now be found sharing her passion, guiding guests through the experience of fermentation forward beers in Webb’s City Cellar.

When asked what her favorite thing about being part of the Green Bench team is…Joanne says it’s the people and carefully curated selection of products we offer (Tmave Pivo being her favorite GB beer). It feels like a perfect match because we feel quite fortunate that she chose us as part of her beer journey.
