Raise A Glass To...Joan!

Joan is our resident Certified Cicerone, Blogger, Shift Lead, and Merchandise Extraordinaire. To say she wears a lot of hats at Green Bench is truly an understatement. From event committees to photo shoots, Joan has been our go-to, go-getter since joining the team in 2020.

Starting her journey with us in the uncertain times of the pandemic, Joan hit the ground running and quickly proved to be an asset to our team. Owner Nathan says “Joan brings so many unique gifts to Green Bench Brewing. She's always stepped up and offered us help in any area she sees that we're somewhat lacking. Aside from her extensive beer knowledge and industry experience, she's quick to jump in and pivot with us as things change around here. Her attitude is always positive, her authentic voice and prose offer us in-depth company blog posts, she assists in managing the tap room, and she stays on top of our merchandise needs. We're fortunate to have Joan as part of our Green Bench family and couldn't do it without her!” 

It’s true. Joan is a driving force in our forward momentum as a team. She has a wealth of knowledge about beer, wine, and food, among many other fun things, and personably shares her knowledge with anyone. Em, our General Manager, notes “She loves continuing to learn and is constantly reading and tasting and reading some more. If you've ever read an entry in our blog and thought to yourself, "what a remarkably poetic yet accurate explanation of an abstract concept," that was probably Joan's voice you were reading.”

Not only is Joan dedicated to the team here at GB, she’s dedicated to the beer…oftentimes found post-shift, or out enjoying the fun lifestyle of St. Pete, with a Postcard Pils and a good book. To quote Em, “She's a creature of function, dedicated to teamwork, leadership, and resourcefulness. She is a tremendous asset to our team at large.”
